From Alexander McQueen to Rick Owens, Christian Dior and Tim Burton - There is something to be said for darkness in fashion. It naturally evokes so many emotions- whether it be, fear, pain, passion, or love-lost. It can be hard, edgy and riddled with attitude, or it can be sensual and soft.

Darkness holds such power in our lives, and fashion embraces that power and uses it to create a story of emotions all in a matter of one collection of garments. Isaiah Whitmore (Hair Stylist and Designer- Extraordinaire) demonstrates his knowledge of these stories in his label 'House of Isaac Andrew'.

    Last week VIVAFASHIONISTAS Photographer (and dear friend of mine) Bret Doss, approached me with an idea. This brilliant idea came just after his first visit to the B.A.M. (Bellevue Art Museum) for a meeting, and tour with the Fashion Group International.

    While touring the exhibits, the group experienced a special walk-through of a paper dress exhibit, which was displayed on the museums third floor. The group was led by the exhibits designer Stefano Catalani, who poured every bit of himself into the research and building of this amazing world. Bret was so awe-struck that he presented the question to me: "How would you like to Cover the paper dress exhibit at B.A.M. this weekend?"

You can imagine both my intrigue, and excitement.

Sarsen is an incredible line, straight out of the mind of its creator & designer Heather Blanchard. She had managed to bring to life, and melt the modern fashion world with that of dark fairy tales. 

I have had the pleasure of working with Heather on multiple occasions, and she is truly amazing. Her vision is one that plays to the long time love of women's childhood dreams & fantasies.

Steve Madden Made an appearance at Nordtroms in Bellevue, to promote his ever-fabulous collections of  the most gorgeous shoes! He met and mingled with fans, and I got the chance to have some one-on-one time with the mogul, who has built all-out empire of shoes,accessories, and all things inspiring!
